The Lord blessed James Byron Rhodes and Kasandra Alease Gordon with a beautiful and loving babygirl, and she was named Shante’ Rhodes. Shante’ was indeed a true “Daddy’s Girl.” Shante’ accepted Christ at an early age. She attended grade school in Eagle Lake, Texas and High School at Rice High School, graduating class of 2005. After completing high school, Shante’ started to work at Wal-Mart in Columbus, Texas. She was a dedicated and faithful employee for 18 years. Shante’ was always so happy and willing to help others. She was adored because she was so positive and fun to be around. Shante’ had a love and a passion for spending time and enjoying her family and kids. The love she had transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. Shante’ really enjoyed going to her Granny’s on Sundays.
Sadly, Shante’ Rhodes passed on November 6, 2023. She leaves to cherish her memories her two sons (her pride and joy): Jae’Shun Smith and Trent Fields Jr., mother, Kasandra Lawson (Kenny); lifetime partner/ fiancé, Trent Fields Sr.; two sisters: JaKayla Jones and Tranasha Gordon; four brothers: Terrell Miller (Alana), Jeramie Parker (Melanie), Darrion Rhodes, and Jamal Rhodes; grandparents, Arthur and Joyce Rhodes; four aunts: Rita Kaye Cotton (Ira), Judy Wilson (John), Patricia Gordon, and Nellie Curry; three uncles: Arthur Ray Rhodes, Michael Rhodes (Tanya), and John Lee Shelton (Dee); five great aunts: Erma Gordon, Mary Gordon, Wilma Shorter, Pearlie Ford, and Jewel Lewis; two great uncles: Oscar Ray Gordon and Allen Ray Hurd; Godmother, Carol Rhodes Curry; four Godchildren: Tarika Bundy, Ja’Brian McTear, Legaci Callis, and Tyson Fields; Godsister, Janiya Williams; Godbrother, Logan Springs, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
