Willie Glenn Obituary

Willie Samual Glenn, Jr. affectionately called “P-Body,” was one of nine children born to Ester L. Clayborne Glenn and Willie Samuel Glenn, Sr. in Colorado County, TX. He was a faithful, devoted, and committed member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church and Prince Hall #18 Lodge in Columbus, TX. He was a humble man and a man of integrity.

Willie attended and graduated from Columbus colored high school in 1964. He was an amazing softball player. He also played football. He loved sports and he has many trophies to prove how amazing he was in playing softball so if you don’t believe just know he has all the receipts with his trophies his number was number six. He also loved the Columbus Cardinals and would always listen and attend their games.

Willie married Teresa White and to this union a handsome baby boy Tyrell and beautiful baby girl Tamara was born.

P-Body loved his family and played a role in each of their lives. He was a man that would show up and that was a blessing. He loved all his siblings and one of the things he said when one of his siblings asked him who was his favorite, he said he has no favorites. He loves everyone the same. He was truly a caretaker. He would take Thomas Carter and Tandy Carter on his bike to get their haircut every week with one riding on the handlebar and one on the back What a friend he was!

On September 25, 2023, Willie departed this earthly life to be joined with our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST. Willie leaves a gift, legacy, and wonderful memories to his two children: Tyrell Glenn (Bridget) and Tamara Walker (John); one grandson, Jamar Glenn; two granddaughters: Kenisha Taylor and Jasmine Causey; three great-grands: Lae’Lonnie Harris, Londynn Harris, and Lonnie Harris, Jr.; a God-daughter, Wilberta Collins; seven siblings: Carolyn Williams, Joseph Glenn (Darlene) James Glenn (Hortlina), Regina Aubry (Wayne), Sandra Glenn, Rudy Glenn, and Margie Whitehead; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
